Stages of the packaging design development journey
First things first. Research into various aspects of brand values, product line/category features, manufacturing and distribution operation and product lifecycle management is undertaken before we focus on other things. As part of our homework, we study competitor designs while undertaking a branding and communication strategy evaluation. We also carry out a package design trend analysis, locally and internationally.
The next step includes understanding how your users will connect with your brand. We identify their buying behaviours, product usage experiences and the types of reactions attributed for certain visual stimulus in customers. This will help us narrow down crucial elements which will useful during the next steps of the process.
Once we ace our homework, we’ll sit down with you and identify your requirements and set a clear path for the project.
Our expert designers then undertake research to understand the aesthetics/design considerations (hand drawn, illustrations, historic art styles etc) for the concepts, while adhering to the regulatory and usage guidelines. The creation of design concept options and mock-ups are complete towards the end of this stage.
Once we have received your approval on the designs, we test the final mock-ups of the chosen package design with similar audiences and make any adjustments. Communication of the special production instructions and final package sample testing for quality assurance is completed during the final step.
